I agree,I find it impossable to win the young mage diciding battle.I also cut off the recruting misson untll the six month warning.

It's easy to win the young mage contest if you focus on three things:
1. Low and high attacking bolts
2. The second level magics (from the magic master) for additional low and high attacking bolts
3. Mana

I have found that you can win with any clan if you focus on these things. You don't need to worry about health since you will have enough bolts to avoid getting damaged and your enemies won't have damaging special abilities yet. You don't need defensive bolts because you can defend with your attacking bolts at this point without repercussions. Also, clan abilities are too costly to invest in this early for the most part. There are very few clan abilities that will be more useful at this point than more bolts or mana.

Great Game Really enjoyed the story. One thing i think could be changed would be when you are about to challenge someone. I think that you should be able to do some last minute cramming in the training area before they make you go to the arena

Another change i would like to see is when Counter-Attacking or attacking in general, Have the offensive bolts hit each other instead of them passing thru to hit the devensive bolts. IE Mage 1 has 10 HA bolts and 5 HD bolts out. If i attack with 12 HA bolts 5 are taken from the HD bolts while damage is still dealt because there were 3 HA bolts that could not be stopped.

Hi, thanks for the replies.
I'll add in more skill points at the start of the game(or give more skill points for doing quests) in the next update, hopefully with the "save history" function ready.

1) yes you can still go to training ground even when you are on a mission.
2) if the offensive bolts hit each other instead of hitting defensive bolts, it will make the defensive bolts useless, and it will be a disadvantage for clans stronger in defensive bolts such as Great Sea Clans.

i saved my game in all three slots to make sure it would be saved but then when i came back to play again all the load game slots were empty

Hi bolt17, the save-game only works if you are on the same computer and browser. We'll see if we should make save-game online.

Well, I am a very experienced player in book of mages:The Chaotic Period
This sequel is great....The clans are further balanced (no more 100% win with chaos->poison or ice->red or dark fire 4 low attack and defense,etc) and unique abilities became more important

By the way, there are still a few flaws.I can say that life is hard for darkwood mages.They need a lot of blood, but you never get as many as NPCs until level 120 or higher.However, the minus power bolts combined with silence is great.=D
While great sea and ice land are far more weaker here,the chaos desert remains imbalanced.I can easily get 'God' and 'Satan' with the burning( my max record was 15power x15=225 per bolt[you can get even higher with more items gathered though], don't forget the additional 10 attack bolts which can only be blocked by great sea too).Once you get hit by this 30 special power is lost.Your bolts number will decrease.This means one hit from chaos and you are dead.

In overall this sequel requires less wits but is more entertaining.I really love this game.Keep it up!

I'll look into improving dark wood mages for early game. I made chaos desert mages slightly easier because I intended to mark it for beginners. However now I am thinking if it is still necessary to have a clan for beginner.

I think the game is awesome but sometimes when exploring you just can't find any events at all especially when looking in the wilderness. Also i wish the game was longer because i don't have enough time to make my skills super good. I f they make a 3rd book of mages they should have control over more than just fire and water. But overall it is probally my favourite internet game.

0/10 played 3 game to try to see something and the chaos one keep draining my special and i cant do anything so he kill me one shot even with 600 hudnred of life

Problems with the game:
1. When moving the mouse over the edge of any building it will rapidly grow and shrink not knowing if it is selected or not.

2.There is no sign that clicking on dark alleys actually does anything. I beat the game and I still don't know if anything that happens in there is random or scripted.

3. Why is it called a marketplace if you can't buy or sell any items?

4. When two poison mages fight and you use poison wave, they will also use poison wave and eventually the mage with less health and max poison damage will always lose without putting up a fight.

Is it a bug that enemy attacks(basic) do 100-150 damage on hit

attila733: the event are at fixed location, and events are unlocked only after the town-crier announces it. I'll give more skill points at the start of the game.

marccc: Sorry the game is too hard/confusing for you. Like I mentioned earlier I'll give more skill points at the start of the game and find a way to reduce chaos desert mage's damage.

1) i'll see how I can improve on that.
2) the events are spread over different locations. Try traveling to other clans and explore dark alleys. it's not random so you can write down where you have encountered events if you want :)
3) Bar and Marketplaces is for you to hear some gossips. Mages don't need to buy fruits or meat :)
4) I'll change the poison effect to the same as mana waves(if both are on poison effect, it cancels out, for example if you are poisoned with 5 and opponent with 3, next round it becomes you 2 and opponent 0)

lordmartin: each bolt can deal up to 10 damage. With some clan's special magic it can increase significantly.

It would be nice if that (?) didn't appear open at the start of every battle. By the time the player is in the young mage contest they should already know what a low attack is even if they skipped the tutorial. A simple fix would be after the tutorial, keep it minimised in the corner of the screen but tell the player that it's there if they skipped the tut instead of the normal "stop wasting my time" comment.

On the topic of speech there are alot of minor errors but the most strange is when the town crier announces that dark/white robes are seeking recruits and the mages "have to" choose a side. Yet he immediately says that the player doesn't have to. This could all be much smoother if he says, "Both Dark and White robes have been spotted forcing conscription, though some mages have attempted to resist."
Considering just how many typos are in the dialogue I'm just wondering when you are going to get a proof reader.

Also it's nice to know that events aren't random but during gameplay there is no way to tell, just adding in the text that the alleys are empty "at present" would solve this.
